Membership and automatic renewal

Membership is billed once a year in your local currency. So your family trees stay online without interruption, memberships renew automatically each year using your saved payment method. We email a receipt after every payment and a reminder before each renewal.

Cancelling auto-renewal

You can turn off auto-renewal at any time from your Subscription page using Manage billing. Cancelling stops future charges; your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. There is no cancellation fee.

Refunds

We do not offer pro-rated refunds for the unused part of a term after you cancel. If you were charged for an automatic renewal you did not intend, contact us within 14 days of that charge and we will refund it in full.

If a membership lapses

If a membership ends there is a short grace period, after which the account becomes view-only. Your family data is kept safe and is only permanently removed after 9 months, and only after we email advance warnings. You can export all of your data at any time from your Account page, and renewing restores full access.

Trusted contacts for inactive accounts

You can name trusted contacts who are notified if you do not sign in for 6 months, so a chosen successor can care for your family trees. You control this from your Account page, and signing in at any time cancels the process.
